Exposure to asbestos can be disabling or fatal. It is known that diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis and lung cancer can be caused. Victims may not show symptoms of any of these for at least 10 years, which can cause difficulty when tracing the source of exposure. However, the students and faculty at one high school have no doubt that they are exposed to asbestos.
The possibility of suffering from mesothelioma, lung cancer or other types of lung diseases is greatly enhanced by substantial asbestos exposure. This is clearly proven by studies that have looked at the incidence of such diseases in employees who experienced cumulative exposures to asbestos.
There are few things more devastating than watching a loved one endure pain and suffering. But family members of victims of mesothelioma or lung cancer often have to watch the disease slowly invade their loved one's body.
